A scriptwriting competition was organized this year for primary schools on the theme of rebellion and for young people aged 15 to 25 on the theme of the absurd.
The scripts ha d to be 3 to 5 pages long and had to be written in French or in English.
On Sunday, October 9th at 4pm, actors from the Thtre de limpossible will read the awarded scripts, in the presence of their authors.

We received numerous replies from all over France and from England, Canada, Finland, Greece, Holland, Japan, Lativa, Marocco, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland.
As usual, it was difficult to choose the six winners but we finally decided they would be

The six winners will be present at the Festival and constitute the screenplay jury during the closing night. They will award the Script Prize for a feature length film to one of the films in competition.
Scriptwriting competition for school pupils on the theme of rebellion
We organized a scriptwriting competition in 2004-2005 for the towns primary schools on the theme of rebellion (last years Festival theme, which those classes attended at the beginning of the school year). It opened to a classes afternoon on Friday, June 20th 2005 in which each class presented its script.
The Golden Mini Graine was awarded to Sverine Murier from Mayville School for her script The Rebellion.
Other classes received the Mini Graine award.
YOUNG EUROPEANS FORUM
what sort of movies do young people make in Europe?
from Monday 11th to Friday 14th, 6pm-7.30pm (admission free)
30 young people from Bulgaria, France, Spain, Italy and Turkey will present films produced by young people from each country.
Monday: France
Tuesday: Spain
Wednesday: Italy
Thursday: Bulgaria
Friday: Turkey
They will make a short film during the Festival answering the following question: what is absurd in my country for a foreigner? It will be screened at the closing ceremony.
This meeting is organised thanks to the Nisi Masa Association and is supported by the European Commission Youth Program (INJEP).

Should Queneau have been adapted for the cinema, and Zazie dans le mtro in particular? Is the absurdity of Queneaus Romanesque language (the opening phrase of the novel How canaystinksotho? and its whimsical and scholarly construction) on the same level of absurdity as that derived from playing with the images and structure of cinematographic drama? Yes, bet Louis Malle, reinventing Queneaus absurdity on a visual level, with colours, rhythm and music. (Jol Magny)

SCREENINGS OF FILMS MADE IN WORKSHOPS
WITH THE CROSS COMMUNITY VIDEO NETWORK

French and English partners have joined forces for a transborder project called
Cross Community Video Network which enables local populations and people requiring social integration (children, young people and adults) to direct films, during workshops given by motion picture professionals. The productions are then broadcast at national and international level.
These creations take the form of reports on local life, filmed correspondence, documentaries, short fiction films etc.
Several of these films, made in 2005, will be screened and followed by discussions with the people participating in the workshops.
The Du Grain Dmoudre association (Gonfreville lOrcher)
TO OUR WESTERN SAHARAN FRIENDS : filmed letter to the young people of JRfia, made by young people from Gonfreville lOrcher in partnership with the Service jeunesse municipal (Municipal youth services) (June 2005, 10).
MEMORY UP IN SMOKE : documentary made by the inhabitants of Gonfreville lOrcher about the memory of their towns temporary camps in partnership with the AGIES social centre (May 2005, 40).

THE BLUE TIT HOUSE documentary made with the residents of the Arcaux Centre at Bois Himont in Seine Maritime (centre for professional and social reinstatement of handicapped people) on the creation of nesting boxes for blue tits (2005, about 15).
GILBERT LEBOITEUXS TREASURE fiction made with young people from the Institut Mdico Educatif in Fcamp on the theme of a treasure hunt (2005, about 10).
