How to participate?
Very easily!


Write a screenplay of between 3 and 5 typed pages in French or English, on the theme of the emotions “Sensitive being / being sensitive”.
Send it to us with your enrolment form before the 15th of June 2007 at the latest (the date of the postmark proving it) at the following address:

Scriptwriting competition on the theme of “Sensible being / being sensible”
for young people aged 15-25
as a part of the 8th “du grain à démoudre” Film Festival


The panel of judges, composed of young organisers of the ‘du grain à démoudre’ Film Festival, will make a selection of six screenplays. The results will be announced in July.
The six winners will be invited to the 7th ‘du grain à démoudre’ Film Festival, from the 2nd to the 10th of November
2006 (the association du grain à démoudre will take care of transportation/accomodation and activities costs).

During the festival they will make up the script writing jury, which will be presided over by the competition winner in 2006. They will award the prize for best screenplay within the framework of the official selection of films.
This will happen during the closing ceremony of the festival, taking place on the 31st of October 2007.
The scripts will be read by professional actors during the Film Festival, and will be on the web site www.dugrainademoudre.net.


If you decide to take part in the competition, this means that you agree with the following rules:

The competition is open to all the entrants, aged 15 to 25, speaking French or English.
Texts can be sent either in French, English or German.
Only scripts will be read.
Texts will not be sent back to their authors.
Texts will be considered as free from royalties, under the unique responsibility of the entrants.
The association ‘du grain à démoudre’ reserves the right to open them to the audience under all the forms it will decide.
The decisions of the panel of judges is indisputable.
The association ‘du grain à démoudre’ is in no way or form responsible for cancellation or postponement of this competition.





SCRIPTWRITING COMPETITION -2006
on the theme of travel for young people aged between 15 and 25



During the year, a scriptwriting competition was organised for primary schools on the theme of the absurd, and for young people aged 15 to 25 on the theme of the travel. The scripts had to be 3 to 5 pages long and had to be written in French, in English or in German.

On Saturday 4th at 2pm, actors from the Théâtre de l'impossible will read the awarded scripts, in the presence of their authors.

We received numerous replies from all over France and from England, Canada, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Japan, Lativa, Marocco, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland

The six winning scripts are:
Beware of the sleeping water by Kévin Antoine, 19 year old, Paimpol (France)
Dear Daddy by Jocelyne Mager, 16 year old, Schallstadt (Germany)
The World Awaits You by Thomas Libessart, 22 year old, Maison Laffitte (France)
First on the Departure List by Clémence Gheeraert, 22 year old, Paris (France)
The thirteenth journey by Jean-David Izambard, 25 year old, Aiffres (France)
Trou noir by Mathieu Collette, 24 year old, Beaufort en vallée (France)

The six winners will be present at the Festival and will form the script jury during the closing night. They will award the Script Prize for a feature-length film to one of the films in competition.


Scriptwriting competition for school pupils on the theme of the absurd
We organised a scriptwriting competition in 2005-2006 for primary schools in the town and surrounding area on the theme of the absurd (last year's Festival theme, which the classes attended at the beginning of the school year). It resulted in a classes' afternoon on Monday, May 22nd 2006 in which each class presented its script.
The Golden Mini Graine' was awarded to Lionel Marinigh's class from Mayville School for the script Les Rêves se réalisent toujours'.
The Mini Graine d'oraward was presented to Lionel Marinigh's class, at Mayville School (Gonfreville l'Orcher) for the script Dreams Always Come True.
The other classes were awarded the Mini Graine' award.
